Original Content Rewards
Restated from X Help and the program terms. Ranking code and OCR are different systems. This page is not a payout decision. The linked documents win if anything here disagrees.
Eligibility — all required
- 18 or older
- Based in an eligible country
- Personal or Business account — not a political or government organization
- Premium, Premium+, or Premium Business. Premium Basic cannot enroll
- 500 or more verified followers
- 500,000 or more Home Timeline impressions from verified users in the last 90 days. Replies do not count
- Actively posting original content
- Account in good standing — no repeated monetization or ToS violations
Admission is not automatic. Accounts already suspended from monetization cannot enroll.
What pays
- Unique Premium-user impressions on Home Timeline
- At least ~50% of the post visible
- Duplicates from the same viewer do not pay
- Artificial and fraudulent impressions do not pay
- Notification taps, profile lurks, and Community-tab views are not Home and are not OCR inventory
- Reply impressions are not OCR inventory and do not count as Home payouts
Original — pays if otherwise eligible
- Writing, threads, articles, reports, analysis in the author's voice
- Photos or video the author shot
- A short original caption on that media — the image or video does the work
- Commentary that adds a real perspective
- Meaningful transformation of existing material: context, analysis, narration, humor, reporting, creative edit
- A quote that adds substantial conversation value — a fact, a counter, or the implication the original left out
Not original
- Copy or reupload from X or elsewhere
- Crop, filter, frame, watermark, speed-change, or thin text overlay only
- Captions that only describe the media
- Empty “look at this” reactions
- Source-cite with no added value
- A quote that only agrees, disagrees, or restates the quoted post
Original but ineligible to pay
- Automated posts
- Sexually explicit or harmful-to-viewers content
- Posts whose subject is how to monetize, maximize rewards, or game OCR — hard fail
- Payout-related posts (pay flex, OCR-as-subject) — dinged even when they are not a how-to
- Disinformation
- Posts with a Community Note rated helpful
- X Rules / ToS / copyright violations
- Unlabeled AI video of armed conflict: 90-day suspension, then permanent on repeat
Ongoing program violations
- Fraud; manipulating payouts or For You
- Bots or automation for likes, follows, views, replies, or shares
- Repeated solicitation of likes, replies, bookmarks, follows, or reposts — “I’ll follow everyone who replies” three or more times is removal
- Daily identical reply loops (GM, emoji, same thanks on every commenter) are a program Fail
Ranking is not payout
For You ranking and Original Content Rewards are different systems. The payout columns judge the written program only. The ranking line is a For You estimate and does not change payout quality.
Weights multiply this viewer’s P(action), not Analytics counts. Mutual +15 reply weight is originals from mutual follows only — never replies or reposts, and not applied here.
